MGFs have always been praised for their handling characteristics, delivering a combination of sports car handling and saloon car ride with their Hydragas displacers fitted alongside conventional telescopic dampers. However in recent years, as Hydragas units have come to the end of their service life, the lack of available replacements has posed a real problem to enthusiasts for the model.

In response Suplex, the German based manufacturer of original equipment coil springs and damper units, has worked closely with their UK arm to finally bring about a viable long term solution to failing MGF Hydragas suspension, as we reported in the August 2011 issue. The kit comprises four machined displacer replacement housings with internal variable rate coil springs, four specifically tuned telescopic dampers and fitting instructions for straightforward replacement of the original suspension.
